Today we went for Paige’s 6 month check-up. She now weighs 17 pounds 15 ounces (about 2 pounds gained since the last appointment), but she is the same length (26 1/2 inches). The doctor thinks they must have mis-measured her last time, but they want to see her back for measurements in a month since she is now 75th percentile for length, weight, and head circumfrance (she has been 90th to 97th since birth). We were suprised to hear that she had not grown as expected because she has outgrown her last set of clothes and shoes!
She did get another round of all the same immunizations and the first round of her seasonal flu shot. (The camera memory was full so we did not get the shot part on video, but she did really well. She cried, but as soon as I picked her up she calmed right down. ) Also, they were out of the swine flu vacinne, so we will try and get it at the health department tomorrow.
The doctor thought she was doing very well developmentally. She did recommend feeding her solids 3 times a day at this point, followed by a 4 or 5 ounce bottle. She also said as soon as she is sitting really well, we can start giving her water in a sippy cup and table food! As soon as we get used to feeding her a certain way, it changes!
So, we will be back to the doctor in a month, but her next official check-up will be in 3 more months. At that visit she will not get any shots, but she will get her first eye exam!
