Today Paige went for her 1 year doctor’s appointment! She now weighs 21 pounds 14 ounces (50th to 75th percentile), is 31 1/4 inches long (75th to 90th percentile), and has an 18 1/2 inch head (90th percentile). She said it was normal for her weight to be down a bit since she is mobile now, but she again said that Paige was going to be tall!
She said Paige was doing great developmentally and that she did not have any concerns with her at all. We were also told that we need to start brushing her little teeth once a day. She also gave us the go ahead on whole milk (8-12 ounces per day). She also said that we did not need to start Mother’s Day Out until she is 2 (to avoid illness and the fact that children really don’t get social benefit with other children until then).
As far as shots, she got the pneumococcal vaccine, which Paige did not enjoy, but she got over it pretty fast. We are delaying the chicken pox vaccine until she does start in MDO.
So, overall it was a good visit and she will not have to go back until 15 months!
