2 month checkup

Paige went for her 2 month check up today!  She now weighs 12 pounds 11 ounces and is 24 1/4 inches long (she gained about 2 pounds and 2 inches in a month)!!!  She is in the 90th-97th percentile for length, weight, and head circumference.

She also got her first major round of immunizations (polio, HIB, DTaP, Rotavirus, and PCV), which she did not enjoy one bit!   But, she did calm down pretty quickly afterward.

1 month Doctor visit

Today we went for the 1 month doctor visit.  Paige is now 10 pounds 13 ounces and is 22 inches long.  She is in the 75th to 90th percentile for both length and weight, but her head is in the 90th percentile. I wonder if this means she will have the Wilson head like her daddy?!

She also got a shot (Hepatitis B) in her leg, which did not make her very happy at all.  This also means that Paige got her first band-aid.

Busy day going to Doctors

First we went to Paige’s First Doctor’s visit and she had a good 1 week old check up.  She weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces, which is in the 75th to 90th% for weight and was 21 inches, which is in the 90th% for length.

Then we went to the Lactation Services at St. Vincents and then Susan went to her Doctor’s visit to get the staples removed.  It was a full day and Paige was very good.

Day before the big day!

Susan and I are going to the hospital for the big day tomorrow.  We had to get to the hospital at 8:00 pm to get Susan an IV started then medicine to soften the cervix.  She was also hooked up to the computer to monitor contractions and fetal heart rate.

Last Doctor’s appointment

Today we had our last doctor’s appointment at 38 weeks and 5 days.  I am maybe a fingertip dilated at this point.   So, unless Paige plans to come on her own, we will have a baby a week from today!  We did find out that I will go in Monday night and get some drugs to soften the cervix.  Then, Tuesday morning, at about 5 or 6 am, they will break my water and start pitocin.  So, with any luck, we will have a baby early afternoon!

38 week appointment

Today was an exciting appointment….we now know that we will offically be parents no later than July 7th!  Unless Paige comes on her own, we will begin an induction on the night of July 6th!

We had an ultrasound today and she is measuring 8 pounds 2 ounces, which is the 85.6th percentile (and the equivalant to 39 weeks).  Her fluid is still good and her head is still down.  So, everything is on track!

37 week appointment

We are full term as of today!!!  The appointment went well….I did not gain any weight or any inches, which helps make up for the huge spurt last week.  Next week we get an ultrasound to check her growth and the fluid level.  But, she could come any day now!

36 week appointment

Nothing too exciting today, but Paige did have a BIG growth spurt this last week.  Let’s just say my tummy grew quite a few inches and I gained back the weight that I had lost last week (and then some).  We will have another ultrasound at 38 weeks to check her size again!

35 week appointment

Today I went for the 35 week appointment.  Paige was not really moving yesterday evening (usually when she is most active), so they wanted to do another ultrasound to check for fluid levels and a non-stress test.  The ultrasound went well (plenty of fluid) but little Paige was lazy as always again.  But, the tech did say that she has hair!  Maybe that old wives tale about heartburn and hair is true!

On the non-stress test, she did not move at all the first 15 minutes, so I had to drink a Pepsi and eat some peanut butter and crackers.  After that, she did finally have some movement.  The doctor was pleased with her heart rate during the whole 30 minutes and said her movement looked good.  So that was a relief!

I did lose 3 pounds this week, which I thought seemed bad, but is apparantly totally normal this late in pregnancy!  So, overall, it was a good check-up!  Only 5 more weeks to go!

34 week appointment

Today we went for the 34 week appointment.  First, we had an ultrasound to see how big Paige is now.  She was not cooperating during the ultrasound, so we did not get any good pictures of her face this time.  She is still measuring big, but not as big as we thought at the last appointment.   She is measuring 1 week and 2 days ahead of her actual gestational age, which puts her in the 77th percentile and 5 pounds 12 ounces.  So, if she gains the average 1/2 pound per week from here on out, she will be around 9 pounds.    Also, she is head down, which is obviously good.

For the next 6 weeks I have to start going to the doctor once per week!  Now we know the end is REALLY getting close!!!
