She’s Famous!

Paige had her first taste of fame today!  She was on the news with my parents at the zoo!

Today Paige stacked 5 blocks!  She is trying to make it to 6 but she keeps knocking her stack down on accident

Stacking blocks

Up until now, Paige has only successfully stacked 2 blocks and today she got up to 3!

18 month doctor’s appointment

Today Paige had her 18 month doctor’s appointment.  She now weighs 23 pounds (25-50th percentile) and is 33 1/4 inches long (90th percentile) and has a 19 inch head (90th percentile).  She was constantly trying to step off the scale, so her weight may be a little higher.  But, she is definitely tall and slim.

The doctor said she was doing well developmentally but she is a bit behind on her speech.  If she is not saying 20-25 words in the next 3 months, we will have to come back for another appointment.  Paige did get the MMR shot today, which she was not happy about, but she always recovers very well.  As long as she stays healthy and her speech picks up, we will not have to go back to the doctor until she is 2!

Gymboree Play and Music

Today we went to preview the open gym at Gymboree Play and Music!  Paige was a little concerned at first, but she quickly warmed up and had a great time playing, climbing, sliding, crawling, and laughing.  Eric is going to take her for her 1st class next week and then we will sign her up for weekly classes!

Zoolight Safari!

Tonight we went to Zoolight Safari at the Birmingham Zoo!  Even though it was cold and windy, we had lots of fun riding the train and the carousel.  Paige loved the train and was busy pointing at all the different lights around the track.  She did not like the carousel as much….we put her on one of the animals and she shook her head “no”.

She’s a walker!

Paige finally took more than 1 step today!!!  She took about 3 steps with my mom this afternoon and this evening she took 5 steps with us!  I have a feeling our lives are about to change in a big way 🙂

We Got It!

We finally got a video of Paige doing her series of actions on command.  She points to her belly, points to her hair, shakes her head yes and no, waves, blows a kiss, rolls her hands, and claps!

Fun with a Spoon!

Today Paige fed herself with a spoon!  She got upset that Eric was not feeding her so she took matters into her own hands 🙂
